The best bit? You don’t even need a crochet hook to make it. Yep, you read that right. This banger of a blanket is made using just huge yarn and your arms! Ready to find out how to make your own hand crochet blanket? It’s fast, fun and SO squishtastic. What more could you want?

LET’S CHAT ABOUT HAND CROCHET
Autumn is the perfect time to for chunky crochet. There’s just something so cosy and soothing about hunkering down and getting out a MASSIVE ball of yarn.
When I say massive, I really do mean MASSIVE. Just look at this!

Big yarn blankets are constantly featured all over home décor blogs and magazines and for good reason – they look incredible! Want to hear the best bit?
It doesn’t get much easier to make than a hand crocheted blanket. Using just a slip knot and one stitch, it’s as simple as it is fun! Your hand crochet blanket will work up in no time and looks just like an expensive, store-bought piece. Plus, you get that satisfying inner glow from being able to say, “oh this super fashionable and fabulous blanket? Yeah, I MADE IT.”
Using just your hands or a large crochet hook, you can make the entire blanket with just one ball of squishy EPIC EXTREME pure merino yarn from Wool Couture.
Plus, you’ll be in good company. Take a look at this video when actual Hollywood superstar Kristen Bell tried my hand crochet blanket tutorial.
If it’s good enough for Anna from Frozen, you KNOW it’s gonna keep you cosy. Right?
HOW DO I HAND CROCHET A BLANKET?

Here’s the thing, hand crochet and hand knitting are sometimes used interchangeably. So, it can occasionally be confusing. As such, my suggestion is that rather than follow a written pattern, you take a look at my video. During my hand crochet blanket tutorial, I’ll talk you through how to make your own blanket as well as show you where the stitches go.
So, what do you need to get going?
Yarn: I used the Wool Couture EPIC EXTREME pure merino yarn. As this is unspun wool, it can be a little bit delicate so needs careful handling, but it feels just like crocheting with clouds. So soft!
Hook: No hook needed, you’ll be using your hands!
I also recommend finding a nice, wide open space to work in, I used my bed but a floor, large table or any other big clear surface will work.
