Are you ready for a bit of a babygeddon? 😂 I thought I would share some of my favourite quick crochet baby makes over the next few weeks. I’m also going to be sharing some mum-friendly makes. I know from personal experience how wonderful handmade baby gifts are, so no matter what your crochet experience is, there will be a pattern for you in these collections. Even if you’re a brand new hooker, you’ll be able to make one or two of these simple and quick baby crochet patterns.

BLANKETS

Let’s start with the classics. A crochet baby blanket is often the go-to pattern when you’re looking for a gift for a new baby. I have a pair of easy-to-make, pretty blankets that look beautiful no matter what colour scheme you choose:

A granny ripple blanket in shades of lilac, purple, pink and cream is laid over a white miniature bed with a straw mat directly under the blanket.

WHAT’S IN A COLOUR?

While baby blankets have traditionally been made in soft shades of pink and blue, modern society is switching away from gendered coloured schemes. If you’re looking to create a thoughtful and loving gift for a modern mum, a gender neutral baby blanket is often the best way forward. This doesn’t mean shying away from traditional colours completely, just delivering them in a fresh new way. Why not try one of the colour schemes below, if you need a little help?

ACCESSORIES

Moving on from blankets, another traditional new baby gift is accessories. I have a couple of patterns that are fast, fun and SO simple to make. No matter whether you’re new to the hook or a seasoned pro these patterns are perfect.

For a modern twist, use bright variations of classic baby colours like coral, turquoise and saffron.
