PATTERN NOTES

• This pattern is worked from corner to corner using filet crochet to form the pattern.
• If you follow the chart please be aware that each block of the chart represents one stitch. Each white block is one treble crochet. Each black block is a chain.
• The CH3 at the beginning of each increase row counts as a stitch throughout this pattern.
• Your last stitch is worked into the top of the CH3 from the previous row on increase rows. It can help to mark this stitch with stitch markers to help locate it.
• The CH3 at the beginning of each decrease row is not counted as a stitch and you do not work into the stitch at the base of the chain either.
• The last stitch is worked into the last sts not the CH3 from the previous rows on decrease rows. The CH3 from the previous row is not counted as a stitch.
• If working from the chart all odd numbers are read right to left and even rows are read left to right.
• When working the border, you may want to mark your middle corner stitches with a stitch marker.
• This blanket can be worked in any yarn weight using the appropriate or preferred hook size for that weight but amounts of yarn will vary from what is stated in the pattern.
• There is also a shorthand version of the written pattern if you prefer this. The pattern is written in a series of num- bers and commas. The number represents how many stitches to work and each comma is the CH1, SK1. For ex- ample, 2,3,2 is TR2, CH1, SK1, TR3, CH1, SK1, TR2.

Border:

Rnd 1: Attach Colour B around the first st of Row 2. CH1, 2 DC around the TR st, 3 DC around the next TR. Continue to alternate between 2 DC and 3 DC around the next TR. When you reach the last increase row on the main section, this will be our first corner. Work 2 DC, CH2, 2 DC around the TR. Continue to the next corner which will be where you fas- tened off, alternating between 2 DC and 3 DC around the TR stitches. Working 2 DC, CH2, 2 DC to create your second corner. Repeat this around the blanket making your 3rd corner on the last increase row and your 4th corner is the CH st you worked your first sts into on Row 1. Work a final 2 DC around TR on row 1 and join with a slst to the first st.

Rnd 5: CH1, DC into the same st [SK2, (2 TR, CH2, 2 TR) in the next st, SK2, DC] repeat around the entire blanket. Each CH2 corner space should have 2 TR, CH2, 2 TR. This may mean that you have to SK1 or SK3 to reach the cor- ner. Join with a slst to the first DC.

Fasten off and weave in all your ends. Your blanket may need lightly blocking. Due to the increases and decreases in this blanket it will not be a perfect square. It will have a slight slant to it but the blocking will minimise it.

The chart for this pattern is only for the heart as the spacing between each heart is different for every panel.
