PIN FOR LATER Bella Coco Crochet has now fully converted to being a fully size inclusive space. If you’d like to read more about what that entails, I encourage you to read the announcement blog here, Size Inclusive Crochet. I’m not alone in taking this step. I’m joining my voice to a growing chorus of designers, yarn dyers and fibre artists in general who are dedicated to making the crochet world an inclusive space that is welcoming to all body shapes and sizes. I’m so excited to share with you a collection of size inclusive designers who are creating fabulous modern, well-fitting and comfortable crochet clothing in a wide range of sizes. You might spot a few familiar faces in this line-up but hopefully you’ll also be introduced to new designers too. You might even meet a new fave! Janine at Knits ‘n Knots Janine from Knits n Knots The fabulous Janine of Knits ‘n Knots always creates her crochet designs in sizes XS-5X. Not only that, but her modern designs are a breath of fresh air. She understands that bodies should be celebrated at any size, not covered up. So, while she does create cosy over-sized cardigans, you’ll also find figure-skimming dresses, cute crop tops and plenty more. Meghan at Meghan Makes Do Meghan at Meghan Makes DO Lovely Meghan’s designs are so incredibly wearable and range from XS-5X. I love her relaxed style. Not only does she create modern wardrobe staples – most of her designs are beginner friendly! So, if you feel confident enough to move on from granny squares and stitch swatches, these simple garments are an excellent choice. Hailey Bailey Hailey Bailey Hailey’s designs all feature instructions to tailor garments to your unique measurements meaning that no matter which of her designs you hook it – it will fit you perfectly. This innovative open-concept crochet pattern style is so clever and means you’re able to make handmade clothing in literally ANY sizing. Courtney at Tinderbox Courtney at Tinderbox I absolutely love the Tinderbox aesthetic of modern meets classic. The beautifully woodsy designs come in size XS-5X and offer instructions on how to amend the fit. Not only that, there’s plenty of scope for customisation with Courtney’s easy-to-follow instructions. Holly Woodward Holly Woodward Holly’s designs are so bright and joyful that I couldn’t resist including them. Holly is a relatively new designer, so there’s only a few patterns to pick from at the moment. However, this colourful collection is so eye-catching I can’t wait to see more from her. Each clothing pattern has a size range of XS-5X and are designed with body shape in mind. Holly herself says, “As a large gal myself (UK size 20/Bust 117cm) it’s incredibly important that my designs are not only made to fit bodies of all shapes and sizes, but they look great on everyone too.“ SIZE INCLUSIVE DESIGNS ON BELLA COCO Pin it! I don’t know about you, but during lockdown I’ve been relying on easy-to-wear clothes. This cosy cardie makes a great wardrobe staple. The Sugar Maple Shrug by guest designer Lisa Rollins doesn’t just cover sizes XS-4X, but includes detailed instructions on how to tailor it to fit your body perfectly. Hooked up in chunky yarn, it’s quick and simple to make too! This stunning Snowflake Poncho by guest designer Aly covers sizes XS-5X. With snowflake buttons and icy colours this poncho is ideal for Winter, but can be easily given a Springtime twist with bright pastels and floral buttons.
