Over the past year, I’ve teamed up with Hobbii to create my very own yarn range! Thoughtfully designed with crocheters in mind, this stunning collection features 30 solid shades and 5 playful prints, offering a beautiful balance of pastels, neutrals, mid-tones, and vibrant brights. Whether you’re drawn to soft and subtle hues or bold pops of colour, there’s something here to spark your creativity. I’ve developed a versatile colour palette that can be mixed and matched to your heart’s content! Get ready to meet your new favourite yarn… The Inspiration I wanted to create a colour palette with endless possibilities, mixing and matching. With each colour category, you find a pastel, mid-tone and bright! Plus five playful prints that incorporate a selection of shades, making it easy and fun to combine colours together. I’ll be sharing some of my favourite colour combinations in this post, but first, I want to share more about the yarn itself! About The Yarn This is not your ordinary S twist yarn. Bella Coco Merino is a ‘Z Twist’ yarn, making it perfect for crocheters! What are the benefits of Z twist yarn? Stitch Definition: The twist of Z-twist yarn can help create more defined stitches, making the finished project look cleaner and more professional. Tighter Stitches: The way the yarn is spun in Z-twist can contribute to stitches that are less likely to split or unravel. Easier Handling: For right-handed crocheters, Z-twist yarn can be easier to handle, as it aligns with the natural way the yarn wraps around the hook during crocheting. Increased Strength: Z-twist yarn can be slightly stronger and more resistant to pilling compared to S-twist yarn. The Benefits of Merino Yarn Incredibly Soft: This is not the scratchy, itchy wool you may remember from days gone by! It’s super soft and so comfortable to wear against the skin, even for babies. Breathable: Wool is a very clever fibre, and merino wool is moisture-wicking and will keep your temperature even. Washable: We opted for superwash Merino, which means it’s safe to pop in the wash. Disclaimer During production, we made a few changes to the yarn. It was originally going to be a DK weight yarn, but then we decided to go for a dreamy, drapey sport weight merino. However, the labels had already been printed, so the first batch of yarn will have labels that say Merino DK! Ooopsie! But I can assure you it’s a sport-weight merino. Take a Look at The Colours Neutrals The neutral shades in the Bella Coco Merino Yarn collection offer a beautifully soft and timeless palette that’s perfect for elegant, understated makes. I have a large yarn stash, some of which my husband doesn’t know about (!) and I really shouldn’t be thinking of purchasing more….. but!! The colours are sooooo beautiful I feel a little shopping order will be made very soon! Meanwhile, can you please tell me where to find the pattern for your wrist warmers, as shown in your new yarn? I’m not particularly good at following a pattern but willing to try as they look so pretty! Will you be doing a video tutorial for them? Looking forward to hearing from you.
