The Yarn

The Rainbow Granny Stripe hat is made using Caron Simply soft which is a 100% super soft Aran weight acrylic yarn. I first came across Caron Simply Soft a few years back and I LOVED the way it worked up and the colour selection it offers. From lighter pastel shades, to deeper jewled tones, there’s certainly something for everyone.

Check out Caron Simply Soft HERE.

The colour way for this pattern is absolutely stunning, it’s using Lemonade, Chartreuse, Ocean, Fuchsia, Red and Kelly Green. I’ve also put together an alternative colour way for a bit of extra inspiration for you. These colours are Purple, Fuchsia, Cobalt Blue, Sage, Lemonade and Orange.

The Pattern

The FREE pattern for the Rainbow Granny Stripe Hat can be found HERE and can be made in size 2-4 and 6-8. I would highly recommend that you download and print out the pattern in order to follow along with the tutorial. The pattern is written in US terms and I will be working in UK terms. Please don’t let this put you off! It’s really handy to get to grips with both sets of terminology as it can help you out a lot in the future. I would suggest that you highlight any changes in terminology to help you through. I will also be pointing out the differences throughout the tutorial.
