Mosaic crochet is a captivating colourwork technique that allows you to create intricate, geometric patterns using simple stitches. Unlike traditional colourwork methods, mosaic crochet typically works with one colour per row. This means no complicated yarn changes mid-row or tangled yarn! The beautiful patterns emerge as you layer contrasting rows, often using clever stitch placement to reveal bold motifs and textures. The Flutter and Bloom blanket uses the overlay mosaic technique. Overlay Mosaic This CAL uses Overlay crochet, so if you’ve never tried mosaic crochet, I’d encourage you to try this technique before the CAL starts. Learn how to crochet overlay mosaic.
