Let’s add a little more textural interest with these modern crochet place mats adding a splash of colour and texture to your home decor. These crochet placements look lovely alongside the crochet coasters.
I adore simple modern home decor and I’m always switching up my dining room table, I reminisced while designing these placements when I used to dress my dining table regularly but nowadays my dining table is mostly embellished with the girls toys and books but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
When I was designing these for my book I was also in the process of moving house, if you follow my home account I was actually going to move into a new build then had a change of heart and fell in love with a beautiful older house that my husband and I could renovate and make into our dream home so there was a lot of interior mood boards whirling around my head as I envisioned how I would decorate me new home… I don’t like to do things by halves!
Learning Elements
Working into row ends to form a border. Simple colour change and invisible join.
Yarn Details
To make these crochet place mats I used two balls of Aran (10-ply/worsted) Paintbox Cotton Aran in Seafoam and two balls of Paintbox Cotton Aran in Paper White.
A huge thank you to Love Crafts for offering yarn support!
Alternative Yarn Suggestions
If you’d like make these crochet place mats using an alternative yarn I suggest the following three yarns, all of these yarns can be purchased on Love Crafts. I always recommend doing a gauge swatch whether you are using the same yarn used in the pattern or an alternative yarn.
