Summer Breeze Tapestry Crochet Cushion

What is tapestry crochet?

Tapestry crochet is a technique that involves using multiple colors of yarn to create intricate designs and patterns in a crochet project. It is similar to traditional crochet, but with the added challenge of carrying multiple colors of yarn throughout the project. This technique is often used to create geometric shapes, images, and patterns, and can be used to make a wide range of items such as blankets, bags, and clothing. While it may take a bit of practice to master, tapestry crochet is a rewarding technique that allows for endless creativity and possibilities, see below for more tapestry crochet patterns available on the blog.

pattern NOTES

  • Skill level: Easy (the colour changes in this cushion are simple, however, this project will not be suitable for absolute beginners. Please ensure your tension is consistent before attempting)
  • Written in UK terms
  • Pattern is worked in tapestry crochet where the unused yarn is worked over by the working yarn. Please hold your unused yarn on the wrong side of the work.
  • Colour change is made with the final yarn over and pull through of the last stitch before colour change.  For Example: with colour A, insert hook in stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, with colour B, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook, proceed with colour B stitches.
  • Turning ch 1 does not count as a stitch.
