  • Whilst gauge is not crucial for this project, it will be relevant when it comes to yarn quantities.

Spinner

With MC, ch 36, (51, 66)

Row 1: Dc in second ch from hook (missed ch does not count as st) and in each ch across changing to CC in last st. Turn. <35 (50, 65) dc>

Row 2: Ch 1 (does not count here or throughout). Work 2 htr in each st across changing to MC in last pull through of last st. Turn. <70 (100, 130) htr>

Row 3: Ch 1, (htr, ch 1, htr) in each st across, changing to CC in last pull through of last st. Turn. <140 (200, 260 htr, 70 (100, 130) ch-1>

Row 4: Ch 1, skip first st. *(dc, ch 2, dc) in ch-1 sp. Skip 2 sts; rep from * across to last ch-sp. Ss in last st. <140 (200, 260 dc, 70 (100, 130) ch-2>

Sew in all tails ends.

Hanger

We want the hanger to be free to twist and move in the wind, so we’re not going to do anything fancy here!
Cut a 38cm (15inch) strand of the CC. Pull one end through the first ch-1 of row 4. Tie the two free ends together using a double knot. Trim the free ends down to neaten up.

Tassel

Using CC and a 10cm (4inch) piece of card, wrap the yarn around 12 times.
Cut a 31cm (12inch) length of CC and pull one end through the top of the tassel and tie a knot to create the tassel hanger. Remove tassel from card.

Using CC secure tail end around the top of the tassel below the knot.
Wrap the yarn around the top of the tassel 10-12 times or to your liking. Cut the yarn, secure with a knot and hide tail end by passing it down into the tassel.

With scissors, cut the bottom of the tassel where it’s currently still folded. Trim the tassel to your liking.
