Christmas Gift Guide 2020

Things are about to get festive up in here, so grab your lebkuchen, a hot chocolate and a Santa hat. I’m about to share some fab festive gift ideas that will SLEIGH this Christmas. There’s bound to be something that jingles your bells in this Christmas Gift Guide, so make like Santa and get writing your list. I promise you, this list will be all nice and not a speck of naughty.

Let’s start with books. I think craft books make fabulous presents, not only are you gifting something beautiful, but also the potential of plenty of crochet makes for the future!

I love to include the yarn needed for at least one pattern from the book in the parcel, so the recipient can hook up a pattern immediately!

Lauren Espy of A Menagerie of Stitches is a crochet QUEEN. Her new book Crochet Cafe is packed FULL of tiny, cute crochet creations. Who knew food could be so cute?

The Spring Collection from Wendy van Delden is the perfect way to add a bit of brightness to a dreary Winter. You know that lull between Christmas and New Year where the weather is always dismal and everyone is tired and stuffed full of turkey? Well, this book is the perfect way to cheer things up! Packed full of patterns that are bursting with the joys of Spring and suitable for all skill levels this is a brilliant book to gift this year.

One of my goals at Bella Coco is to deliver modern, fun crochet and I love finding other makers who are adding a fresh twist on a classic craft. Debrosse absolutely encapsulates modern crochet. Her book, Modern Crochet: Patterns and Designs for the Minimalist Maker isn’t just full of contemporary but timeless makes that will delight any crocheter, it’s so beautiful to leaf through that it makes a great coffee table book!

Jessica Carey of The Hook Nook is another of my crochet inspirations. I love her mindful and modern makes. Her book, Making with Meaning: More Than 20 Meditative and Creative Crochet Projects is like a little slice of calm and has some of the most beautiful crochet projects I’ve ever seen alongside thoughtful passages about her process.

In fact, I loved this book so much…I ended up with two copies! I’d love to be able to share this book with you, so I want to run a quick giveaway.

Let’s move away from books and onto the sumptuous, squishy stuff…YARN. This Christmas Gift Guide wouldn’t be complete without it. I don’t know about you, but I can never have enough yarn. I think, when you see the skeins I’m about to show you…you’ll definitely agree.
